The original mission for the Phoenix Mars Lander was for 90 martian days or 'sols'. That timeframe means the mission was to have been completed today, August 26th. However the mission is going so well, the mission has been extended through September.
Basically, they are going to keep going until the lander is completely frozen by the martian winter. This is turn begs the question. Will the lander work when it thaws out in the martian spring?
I think it will. Save for thermal damage to electronic components, there shouldn't be any damage by corrosion or short circuiting as it thaws (the ice will sublimate) so the lander may fire up again.
It's game over for the Phoenix Lander. The martian winter has caught up with the solar panels and the Lander is no longer operational. Some details are posted here
